Resting Champion - New Contemporary/Classical Figure Painting

​Athletes appear often in my work, as they have often in art history. Their harmony of body and mind have always fascinated and inspired us. "Resting champion" is momentarily removed from the trials of the sport, and crouches, draped in ancient vestige, waiting. His stored strength is forever captured for the viewer, in anticipation of returning to the game.
