Recently, Lauren and I drove to Charleston, WV to deliver her work to Annex Gallery of Taylor Books for her upcoming exhibit. The reception for her work is September 20th, 5 - 8:00 pm, and anyone in the area should swing by. "Winter River - February 3rd", Lauren Adams While we were in Charleston, we also stopped by the Culture Center to pick up my paintings from the Historic Portraits of WV exhibit. Both pieces will now be available for purchase in my shop. Thanks again to Betty Gay for the opportunity to participate in the exhibit. "Captain Brown contemplating his mission" and "The proud and mournful Buckhongahelas", Derek Overfield One can see by my decision to portray John Brown in the portait exhibit, that I find him an interesting and controversial figure in West Virginia and American history. Luckily, we had a chance to stop by the WV Museum's historical exhibits and visit the John Brown display. They have several interesting artifacts from the raid at Harpers Ferry, as
well as the time period leading up to Brown's death. Some items include the handcuffs and collar he wore in jail, the lock and key of his cell, a letter to his family, the noose used in his execution and various weapons used in the raid.

While we were in Charleston, we likewise came by the Way of life Center to get my artistic creations from the Memorable Representations of WV display. The two pieces will presently be accessible for buy in my shop. Thank you for the beautiful post!
