Proud to announce that two of my figure paintings have been accepted into the exhibit "Inspired: Portraits of Historic West Virginia Figures" at the West Virginia State Museum in Charleston, WV. The show will be exhibited in the Commissioner's Gallery from February 21 - August 26 of 2012 with a reception on February 21. Below are my works featured in the exhibit.
"Captain Brown contemplating his mission", oil paint and ink transfer on canvas, 32"x48" (triptych), 2011
"The proud and mournful Buckhongahelas", acrylic, graphite, cut fabric and ink transfer on canvas, 26"x30", 2011

Yesterday I was pleased to find that my work "Man with Infant", won the honor of an Award of Excellence at the 2011 West Virginia Juried Exhibition. I am extremely proud and would like to thank the jurors Ryan Grover and Philip Jackson as well as the WV Cultural Center for the opportunities they provide the WV artists. This is a Purchase Award, so my piece will now be a permanent part of the WV state collection - an honor I now share with my wife Lauren Adams. Congratulations to all the other winners and participants.
"Man with Infant", latex paint, oil pastel, graphite and photo transfers on canvas, 26"x30", 2010.
