Recently, Lauren and I drove to Charleston, WV to deliver her work to Annex Gallery of Taylor Books for her upcoming exhibit. The reception for her work is September 20th, 5 - 8:00 pm, and anyone in the area should swing by.

While we were in Charleston, we also stopped by the Culture Center to pick up my paintings from the Historic Portraits of WV exhibit. Both pieces will now be available for purchase in my shop. Thanks again to Betty Gay for the opportunity to participate in the exhibit.

One can see by my decision to portray John Brown in the portait exhibit, that I find him an interesting and controversial figure in West Virginia and American history. Luckily, we had a chance to stop by the WV Museum's historical exhibits and visit the John Brown display.
They have several interesting artifacts from the raid at Harpers Ferry, as
well as the time period leading up to Brown's death. Some items include the
handcuffs and collar he wore in jail, the lock and key of his cell, a letter to
his family, the noose used in his execution and various weapons used in the
raid.

Proud to announce that two of my figure paintings have been accepted into the exhibit "Inspired: Portraits of Historic West Virginia Figures" at the West Virginia State Museum in Charleston, WV. The show will be exhibited in the Commissioner's Gallery from February 21 - August 26 of 2012 with a reception on February 21. Below are my works featured in the exhibit.
