Below is my 2012 painting titled "Diadoumenos", which took inspiration from the sculpture of the same name by Polykleitos. The term "diadoumenos" refers to a victorious athlete knotting a band of honor around his own head.

A few years back, I was fortunate enough to be able to see an actual Roman copy of Polykleitos' masterpiece in marble at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
